A group of DAL AC Students participated in the truro startup weekend and presented as well as executed an agri-food business idea
They presented the concept of an Organic sustainable restaurant where only organic food will be served and the food waste obtained will be recycled by vermicomposting (worms) into nutrient rich compost and would be freely given to the local farmers to encourage organic farming.

This group bagged the first prize of 6400$ ($5900 in advisory services +$500 cash)
The group consisted of : Chaini Konwar (Master’s student), Ronak Desai (student), Maria Caraza (Master’s student), Punya Raja (Undergrad), Farrukh momin (Dal Halifax) Basanti Bandekar and Kaushikan Ganesan (DAL AC alumni)
